I came across the work of Diem Chau (via bloesem) today. This is a woman after my own heart, combining ceramics and textiles the way she does - embroidering on to ceramic plates and cups. I'm really not quite sure how she does it, but its working for me! You can check out more of her work here.

mel, these are beautiful! thanks for sharing...i have been eyeing them closely and i think that she is either sewing the images onto a piece of cloth and then gluing onto the plate, or directly gluing the lines of thread, depending on the design...not sure, of course, but that's my best guess! very interesting and unique...
